My mother received a call from Tom Amherst from Global Acquisitions stating that I forged her name and used her social security number to cosign for a loan. They wanted her to pay off a loan I supposedly had. They told her that she would be receiving a call from the DA. I also received a call about a month ago stating that it was in regards to a payday loan I obtained online (they would not say from which company) and that unless I paid them money that day that they were going to send the police to my work. I told them that I had not and to send any proof that they supposedly had to me via the mail. I never received any mail from them, nor did the police come to my work. I believe this is a scam. I am wondering how they got my information and my mothers though.

Yes i received a call this morning on my employment voice mail in reference to a Liaison committee purchasing group and they quoted a SS# that wasn't mine and said that if i didn't contact them back with my lawyer they were sending a Bench warrannt out for me.  I left a voice mail and also forwarded the voice mail to my Lawyer(because i think this is bogus) and once i hear back, i will come back and let you know what it meant.

Update: Tom Amhurst called again and i asked the question of what was this pertaining to because he left a SS# that wasn't mine.  He was like if this isnt' your SS# don't F***ing worry about it.  I told him that i have forwarded his voicemail to my lawyer and he should be receiving a call real soon.  He was like why are we still [***] talking i'll wait to hear from your lawyer and hung up.  My conclusion, this is a SCAM and he is wanting someone to give them their ss# and credit card infor.  He couldn't tell me what the debt was for this company.
