Did not answer, because I did not recognize number.  Left no msg.

Call came at 8:23 am on November 19, 2014.  When I answered a man asked for my husband by name.  When I informed him that my husband was unavailable he hung up.  The called id on the phone identified the call as SIMPEX.

11/24/14, 9:44 am CT I received a call from this number w/ caller id "Simpex".  Male requested to speak with my legal name (not the one I use).  Said he wanted me to write down something so I could check on it later.  Had a somewhat thick East Indian accent, so it was hard for me to figure out exactly what he was saying.  Told him I was on no call list & asked to be removed from his call list.  He indicated he was not selling anything, but just wanted me to write something down.  I repeated my request to be removed from the call list & he disconnected the call.

The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not.

The DNC filed complaints are used by all agency's. You can also file complaints directly with the FTC & FCC as well.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or less.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
