This number is an American Charity collecting Organization, that is calling from Dearing, Kansas (tho the number is a Lakewood, CO #). They are calling for donations to both the Police Protection Charity and the Fire Fighter's Charity. They also use the number (980) 494-1087. So, now you know. I've given to both.

A vaguely computerized voice, left voicemail asking for me by my first name at 830 in the morning.  Sounded like they thought they were talking to a real person, not a machine.

I worked in law enforcement for twenty years.  Police Orgs do not call for donations.  These "Police Charities" are real, however, only about ten cents on the dollar actually go to police Orgs.  Your money would be better spent by calling your local police and ask where they would like a donation.  The callers with these "charities" more than likely are parolees who are needing jobs..... so it is employing them but for a pittance.

Called early this morning 830 it was a man called me by first name and when I asked what can I do for you a recorded message for supposed police charity, as I stated I do not give money over the phone due to the numerous Scam attempts that are allowed to keep scamming. made no difference because it was a recording I hung up number blocked.  I will mark this call unknown because this site does not have a charity or scam selection

Some nasty gruff man called my mother's land line from this number and asked for me (her daughter).  When she told the caller I did not live there and he had the wrong number, he rudely said that he had the RIGHT number, just the WRONG person.  This was before 11am on Palm Sunday.  He claimed to be from a Charitable Police organization, which I have personally never donated to, especially an organization over the phone claiming to be something that they probably are not.  This line should be shut down.
