was this a scam

Received a second call today (4/17/14)  from phone number 720-437-7129 stating that they would serve papers for my daughter to me at my address. And that my daughter left this phone number for her contact number.  (She has her own apartment and phone number.  The day before (4/16/14) the female caller stated that if my daughter did not call 1-855-731-5140 in two days that action would be taken against her.
My daughter called them and they tried to intimidate her by telling her that she owed $1,125.35 to Verizon, even though she has never used Verizon. They had some of her information correct but most of it was wrong.  They then went on to say if they did not hear back from her within two hours, action would be taken against her to collect the money. She told them she would have her attorney look into the situation  and they suggested she use their lawyer.  What a bunch of creeps.

Have had multiple relatives and friends contact by number starting a "restraining order" had been filed against me in Colorado.  They have contacted my 16yr old daughter and tried to intimidate her with the threat of imprisonimg me if I didn't respond. They have even contacted a former fiance from 18yrs ago with the same "important legal matter" b.s. Will be contact the state's Attorney General and filling harassment charges against company as I have never been in Colorado long enough to wrong anyone much less justify a restraining order.

The former fiancé received a second call today and they are pretty persistent.  I would love to know how they even got this number as I didn't have it almost 20 years ago.  They are very rude and obviously on no way legitimate.
