Called yesterday asking me to provide personal statement before sending case to their client. Seems like a scam to me? Why would I need to call back with personal statement and over the phone without a lawyer?

It's a scam. Tell them to send you something by good ol' US Mail. Not fax, text, email, or phone call. Know your rights, because where your caller is calling from, they have none.

Now they are leaving me messages saying they are going to send my info to Chex Systems?

now calling from various numbers with area codes 602, 415, 479, 205, 708, 914... needs to stop

I too received a phone call from these people stating that I owe unpaid money to some on line loan company to the tune of  $4000.00 from 2009, but they would settle for $963.00. I was very skeptical from the beginning, since they had an address I have not lived in since 2004 and called my ex-husband in Calif to try to get a hold of me, that I have not lived with for 35 yrs..  I told the man they were scamming me. The man got indignant and told me he would be filing the papers with our Colorado court system promptly for $4000.00. I told him he sounded a lot like and just like the man that ironically had previously scammed me for $900.00  last year, to secure a higher payout loan. When my ex had called he gave me the number of these people so I could get contact them, they called him trying to get a hold of me. When I called no where in the voice mail did it state the attorney's name or company.. That alone was my first clue, and right after I hung up after leaving a curt message I got a call from a representative (whom I could not understand the name he stated either not with his accent) and the above information proceeded to take place.
