720-336-4075 qualifies as nuisance but isn't criminal. The lady represents Lithia (local Jeep dealer), knew our make, model, and year and that it's in good condition given fairly high mileage.   Altho she already knew more about our car than we do, she asked innocuous questions about mileage, condition, mechanical issues. Claimed the dealership in need of good used models. Told her we aren't in the market for a new car and won't be anytime soon.  She asked if we wanted to be notified of recall notices by email; told her mail is fine and that we just had recall work done today.  Was her call a coincidence?  Probably not.  She said please call if we needed service; I requested and was given the number to call.  Turns out it is a toll free number for our local Lithia dealer (perhaps yours as well; call originated in Colorado but we're in another state; might be a call center that forwards callers to their local dealer). I ignore most unknown calls, but sometimes answer in order to request that they take us off their call list, which legitimate telemarketers will honor because it's the law.  But you must specifically request removal from the list.   Forget  "I'm not interested" -- they're allowed to ignore it.   That said, NOTHING discourages the growing number of scumbag scammers who are conducting illegal activities and don't care that they're breaking the law.  Also, many are resorting to recorded calls which are particularly annoying.   Call blocking probably the thing to do, either with a stand-alone blocker, phones that are so equipped, or call blocking through your phone company if it offers the service.   (Ours doesn't).    This caller probably would have removed us from their call list upon...if I had remembered  to ask....  :>)
