said it was Michael from Omni Financial and said they were were with state taxes for business with a lien?????  Our business does not have liens

The company I work for just got a call from Michael Anthony of OMNI at 720-274-1843 concerning same thing!

Second call; today he acted as though he was the IRS, demanded to know who I was; very heavy handed.  I said hold on let me get your contact information so I can verify who you are (name, phone number, Omni Financial) then goes into a spiel about how the courts use them to do blah blah blah and liens from the Franchise Tax board, and penalties, and blah blah blah.  Acts like he is a government subcontractor.   He says his name is Michael Benevides (probably fake).   Said I have no liens, I do not have Franchise Tax board as I do everything by commission online and someone else collects and pays the resale taxes.   He kept going on and I wound up hanging up on him.  

Another one of a million shysters.

JUST GOT A RATHER ANNOYING CALL FROM A GUY NAMED MICHEAL ANTHONY ON 720-274-1843 WHO SAID IT WAS REGARDING A TAX LIEN THAT HAD BEEN FILED AGAINST THE BUSINESS I WORK FOR, BUT WHEN I ASKED HIM THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS HE GAVE ME A TOTALLY OFF THE WALL NAME THAT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE NAME OF THE COMPANY I WORK FOR.  I LOOKED UP THE NUMBER AND FOUND THIS SITE.  CALLED HIM BACK AND TOLD HIM I WOULD BE REPORTING HIS NUMBER TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES.  

Said his name was Fred calling for a California Tax issue... I'm in New York. The Number is a google number with with a Southern California area code.. that's why he said California... They committing fraud to get you to pay for un-needed services. They NEED to be reported to the State Attorney General for they're state (not sure what state that is, I didn't dig enough for that) and then reported to the Federal agency for which the new Consumer Protection Act can be invoked. It's fraud, plain and simple.
