Just got a call from this number on my cell phone. I've recently been shopping for car insurance, so I assume one of the forms I filled out got me on this list, though I don't remember giving them my cell number.
Anyway, I answered, since it was a semi-local call for me. My phone takes a second or two to sync up and "she" was already in mid-spiel by then. I interrupted and after a pause it said something about car insurance, did I want to lower my bill, etc ... it was fast and I didn't quite follow it. I interrupted again and asked who was calling. Another pause and it replied something to the effect of national car insurance institute something-or-other blah blah blah.
The overall cadence of the conversation didn't seem right - it would talk over me, etc. So I tried a verbal "captcha": "What month comes after February?" A pause, and it says something non-relevant, don't recall what. So again - "What month comes after "February?" After awhile it replies something like "I think you can google that"
Still not sure if I was talking to somebody very determinedly reading from a script, or a robot with some level of voice recognition.
