The company is called "Direct Merchants" and they want you to pay $250 to get started in a business that gets businesses owners to change from there current credit card processing service to theirs with a promise of lower processing fees.  They "qualify" you some questions and ask you to listen to a recording about the business and then pass you off to a closer.

Hoping someone can help me here. For the past week or so I've been getting calls from this number 718-924-2796. At first it was just once a day. I have a busy life, so I missed those calls...but no message was left anyhow. Well, yesterday I got 3 calls from it...again no messages left. The calls were about 2 hours apart each. Then today I was shocked....9 calls!!!!! About every hour from noon til almost 9pm. No messages left for any of those calls. Seriously...isn't this harassment???

My phone number is registered with the "No call registery" but obviously that isn't working. My big concern is my phone is a prepaid phone (just in case anyone is wondering its a cell phone and my only phone). These calls are filling up my call log and if I answer it or check my voicemail to see if there are any messages I get charged...which makes my cost higher than it needs to be when its nonsense like this. I checked into blocking the number, but the only stuff I could find is like $9.99 per month or the number to be blocked has to be a local number...which this one is not.

Can anyone help or suggest anything. I don't even know where to start to complain about it since I don't even know who this is. This is beyond ridiculous! Thank you in advance for any help.

This number calls me on the hour, over 5 times a day everyday, and it needs to stop!!!!

December 29th 2010 at 10:19 AM, I've started receiving calls from this number 17189242796. As of this date January 4th 2011, my phone number has received  22 calls. I say calls because thier isnt' a person on the other end. The line is silent when I say hello, this number has called at all hours. as ealry as 8:21 AM to as late as 12:35 at night. When i googled the number this is what I got:
Track UPS package 14808945463www.ups.com. The number in the results has callled 3 times.

Have received repeated calls from this number over the last several days. Don't know the number so I don't answer it.
