I got a call from this number a couple of days ago. I had my wife look at her emails and turbotax to see if their was any notifications from the IRS.....I don't play around with s*** like that especially with the government because I work for the sheriffs dept here in Florida. My wife said their were no notifications no notices in the mail. I looked up the number and realized it was a call from New York. My wife said if it was real it wouldn't be a voicemail it be an actual person and I would have gotten some type of notice. I call the number which was 718 770 3585 and a officer Thomas Jones badge number 4788 answered telling me I was under direct violation of the IRS and a warrant had been issued to me. I told him for wat exactly. He responded I owed $4890 in back taxes since 2013 and that the local sheriffs dept was in route to my location. I told him I worked for the local sheriffs dept and that he was full of s*** . Mr Jones hung up right away. Guys this is a scam plz don't give your hard earned money to these guys. Don't fall into their traps and assume the authorities are out to get you just so we are clear this is a scam.

We got the same thing.  A very rude person with an Indian accent claiming he was with IRS and there was a warrant for my mothers arrest for tax fraud/ owing back taxes from 2012.   She was very shaken.  Please beware of these people. As we all know, there'd be a long paper trail from the IRS if it ever got to this point.

Horrible Scammers

The IRS will send an official letter with a case number and a proper number to call concerning the details of the case. They do not email nor call you.

Do not engage in any conversation with them. They are counting on your fear and pick up on that so they continue their unethical and illegal tactics to scare you into paying non-existent back taxes or fines. Hang up and call the real IRS to verify with them if there is anything against you.

I just got the call from this number 718-770-3585 and the tape ran said that I engaged in tax fraud and should call this number. The tape recording told me different number but I don't have anything to write it down, so I call 718-770-3585 the line was busy. I decided to google that number and found out that they wanted to scam me. Thanks for all the report.

Clearly Fraud. Recorded voice claiming to be from IRS and I had to call back or risk being arrested on tax fraud.
