A "John Martin" called me from the "NY Sheriff's Office" claiming to have a warrant for my arrest and that if i don't respond immediately i will be in "a big legal trouble"    I work for a Sheriff's office (we don't operate this way) haven't been to NY other than a layover at an airport, and this has SCAM written all over it

John martin called me saying I had a warrant for  a payday loan that I never received. I said that's [***] and he said be prepared to be aressted [***]. Lmfao.He gave me 7 numbers for his badge. Well I called him.back and he said I will be arrested in 48hrs. Had h on 3-way with my husband. Oh he didn't like that at all. I called the queens police and they said they don't have a martin there and they don't have 7 numbers on their badges. Stupid people get  a real job.

Received the same phone call today. Caller stated his name as John Martin and he was a Sheriff's Deputy with the Queen's County Sheriff's Office. Left message on my cell phone stating that they have an arrest warrant for me. He also called my place of employment stating that I needed to call him immediately.  I called him back and he knew my address and date of birth but he couldn't tell me why I was being arrested. He put me on hold to transfer me to his lieutenant in charge of my case. I waited and waited but he never came back so I hung up.  As soon as I hung up with him he called my cell phone back twice.  I did not answer either time. I called the Queen's County Sheriff's Office and left a message for the captain to call me.  THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE STOPPED! THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!

This number called me and left a message stating he had a warrant for my arrest! I am not from New York & have not been there! Scam for sure! Shame idiots do this to get off on making another person wonder who they are! Shame on you for doing this!

Total scam and they will eventually try and scare you enough with the arrest warrant talk and into wiring them $ to take care of the warrant which doesn't exist.  Firstly, as a law enforcement employee NO law enforcement agency calls people and tells them there is a warrant out for their arrest. 2ndly, this is NOT the Queens Co Sheriff's Department and thirdy if they could talk English they just might have a bit more credibility.
