Just called home landline, then hung up during outgoing message. Supposedly a "New York NY" number, but with spoofing who knows?

I do know people with phone numbers in this area code, and sometimes I get calls from new people, so I could not rule out this call based on its area code. If I only get a hang-up, this information lets me know that I needn't bother to follow up. Of course, if I do get to hear the nature of the scam, I will report it ...

Caller ID = "UNKNOWN NAME," always a red flag. Robocaller lying to me about a back brace, falsely claiming I requested information.
