I thought Finders Keepers was a scam, too -- but they're not!  They called me 3 months ago claiming to have found an old paycheck and requesting that I send them a notarized authorization statement for them to collect the funds and take a 15% commission.  I was VERY nervous because they required my SS#.  But I checked them out with the Better Business Bureau and saw they had been endorsed with an A rating and had no complaints filed against them, ever.

Long story short: this week I received a check from Finders Keepers for a few hundred, minus their small commission.

I almost DIDN'T authorize them to collect the funds due me because I did an online search and found sites like this saying it was a scam.  My advice: check them out with the Better Business Bureau, because if they're contacting you, you have money that's rightfully yours that these people will get for you.  They were courteous, prompt and professional!

Rosie ... thanx for your link to NY State Comptroller's Office.  I found that, indeed, I had unclaimed funds and also that 718-363-0588 was bona fide, but that they take 15% (as noted in other posts).

I too got the call and checked out the Comptroller's Office. I filled out the form and sent it in for unclaimed funds. Thanks for your help!!!

Secretary spoke with Neal Fox, he said some checks were found that belong to the MD, he is faxing agreement to sign. I heard the conversation the secretary had with NF and it seems suspicious already. As soon as i recieved agreement i went over it, and decided to call. He was very rude and id say nervous! I asked how he got doctor's info, if there is checks that were lost i as a manager and collector  know exactly what to do and where to call for them to be reissued. He got all aggravated and said to me " You want me to call your Doctor and tell him you dont wana collect his money?", "How can you make decisions like that without him?" his attitude just showed me that this so called company is a big SCAM! When i said "let me put a Doctor on the phone for u he give you his peace of mind", he said "whatever" and hang up! I read all these reviews whoever wrore about some funds being found for them, is probably one of them writing under dif names for their own benefit. These people should be arrested just for the abuse!
