Send a "cease and desis" letter indicating that they cannot call you on your telephone and all correspondences must be done in writing.  Send it certified/delivery receipt so you have proof the letter was sent.  And if they call after that tell them they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you will file a complaint and possibly sue for harrassment if they continue to call.  I have done this with them and am just waiting for the notification to tell me they have received it. I have done this with all of my bills (current or past due) and I am currently only receiving calls from Capitol One.  I still keep in contact with them to let them know my situation and when I will be sending the next payment. Yes i have a cap one card. Yes I lost my job and was unable to pay, I just got a new job, called and offered equal monthly installments with reasonable terms and they told me to pay it all off or else...I am unable to as I have other more important bills so now I have 6-7 calls a day from different numbers her is a recent list.

Linda gets around! She called me from Massachusetts yesterday.. today it's from New York. Where will she be tomorrow? Can we meet? I'd love to hear your "great opportunities" with Capital One over a carmel macchiado.

To the person who thinks they only call because we deadbeats don't pay our bills.  Not only do I pay my bill, I pay more than the minimum payment.  They call not only to harass for money, but to sell you credit insurance and to sell you payment protection and according to the report I read yesterday on the net, they are now calling people offering them the deal of a lifetime.....if you agree to it, they will cut your over-the limit fees in half.....problem with that is that the new credit card law does away with over-the-limit fees unless you opt-in to this agreement....so say NO to that one, if you're brave enough to pick up the phone instead of just hit ignore.
