This has nothing to do with your call. It's pure coincidence. These trolls are not selling knee, back braces or anything else, but rather trying to confirm your ID and match it to a phone number. It's part of a skip tracing effort by a junk debt collection agency. Once they figure out their spoofed number has been blocked they switch to another spoofed number. No legit company would ever pursue any individual with such determination. They've got ulterior motives and they're not good.

They called several times but did not leave a message.  Based on some of the other reports on this site re. this number, my suspicions are confirmed that these are scam callers.  Decided to block the number.

Every phone provider profits by providing service to the scammers and won’t shut them down as it would be lost income for them, thus they are aiding and abetting the illegal activity.

I have contacted many of the phone providers and not once have they provided any help to stop these calls.  Each and every time their response has been that the calling number has been spoofed.  How can every scammer spoof a number and the phone companies are doing absolutely nothing about it?  Is this some conspiracy??  Must be!!. All for total profit.

Their ancient technology knows precisely what number each call originates from order to bill them for service (plus taxes) and they also know what data is sent out over their infrastructure in order to determine what number is provided as the spoof number.  The scammers have to pay their phone bill just like we do.  So each and every phone provider is definitely aiding and abetting these scammers. Thus, they can claim the number was spoofed to keep empowering them.

They easily know who the roboterrorists are based on service utilization just by monitoring the bandwidth and frequency of calls made from a single source.  We, the recipients, are all victims of this crime and it’s high time to fight back – so if you actually talk to a human, identify them by asking for their address so you can send them a check, and then hang up.  Now you have some ammunition to file a complaint sans spoofing, hopefully.

The DNC law works only for honest callers, not for the scammers.  It does provide a targeting list for scammers so they know who to call.  Enforcement is an unbiased, total and complete failure by local, state and federal authorities who should be penalized with fines, jail time, loss of their job and benefits unless they promulgate strong, sufficient and binding legislation to guide all phone providers in terminating the illegal roboactivity and phone scams – put the onus on the providers and not the honest users!  And lessen our bills as well.

Also, why not sue the phone providers for their inaction to pull the plug on the phone terrorists?  A fantastic class action suit awaits a great attorney team on this one, because it appears that neither Federal nor State authorities give a damn to protect us and openly permit the phone companies to continually profit from your life being interrupted.  Some counsellor must be reading this who has the gonads to act.

Oh, I did forget to mention that the phone providers have steadfastly refused to provide call blocking citing the fact that their customers would miss important calls that they would not want blocked.  What?  The phone companies are regulating who we can talk with?  Sounds like a 2nd Amendment issue, censorship, and a dictatorship just to let the scammers strip us of our funds and sanity.

Many robocalls originate on the Verizon network and thru their subsidiary companies and affiliates such as Cellco.  Of course, Sprint, Level 3, Cavalier, Embarq, T-mobile, and Cingular (to name a few) are also co-scamming providers.  What if these scammers might even be related to phone company employees, executives or worse yet, terrorist organizations that raise funds to support their cause?

Finally, contact the Consumer Union (Consumer Reports) site www.EndRobocalls.org and sign their petition to pressure the phone companies and lobby the government. It won’t cost you a cent!  July 2015 news articles indicate Verizon is going to screw us more during their attempt to deregulate communications services and fees which could cost us considerably more by buying into their anonymous call intercept useless service, etc.
