Your C&D (Cease and Desist) letter is great.

Don't send them any proof that you paid off any loan, as you will be giving them information they should not have.
They are the ones who have to prove they have the right to collect on the loan they claim you got, in a letter mailed to you and delivered by USPS.

they consider this a civil matter until money actually changes hands.  Also, these thieves use spoofed numbers and are hard to track down.
