Just got a call from the NYC number from a company that "represents" Microsoft about a virus on my computer. I knew it was a scam, because they have called before. The last time they called the number was the number for the Central Bank of NY!!!! I asked the person why she was calling from NYC, and she said, with a very heavy accent, that the number was "computer" generated. So, I said, "then you are not from the college or NY?" She then said she was in Redmond, Washington. I asked, "How is the weather there?" She asked me why I wanted to know about the weather - just curious, I said. Of course she didn't know, because she wasn't in Redmond. So, I kept asking her annoying questions, e,g, about her accent and where she was from? I told her that her English was terrible and the I could hardly understand her. I asked her to repeat just about everything she said. She said she was from Africa. I asked, "Nigeria?". "Are you also going to tell me I have relative I didn't know about who was killed in a car accident who left me millions and all I have to do is send you my bank account number and I'll be a rich man?" This ridiculous conversation went on for at least 20 minutes, before she finally hung up. At least I got some satisfaction of annoying her as much as she had annoyed me with the call.
