This number called me, and when I called back it was Fedloan Servicing. This makes sense because I'm behind a payment on a student loan and I've gotten several letters from them in the mail before the call.

The Company with the name Fedloan keeps calling and I have told them NOT to call this business number back ever again and to take my business number off there list. That I don't have a account with them that they was looking for a female! But they just keep calling and calling and calling!

I informaed them that. The person they are looking for is not an employee at this company. They asked me if I could relay a message to them. I told them I'm not a answering service for anyone that is not with this business. They got mad and stated they will keep calling if they want too!

This caller keeps calling, leaves no message. Caller ID shows: COFA_HRBG_PHEAA.   Lookup indicates may be from Harrisburg.  Would like to eliminate this caller.

Fed Loan is a servicing agency for YOUR FEDERAL EDUCATION LOANS folks. It's not a fraud. They called me today and did not leave a message, so I looked it up and called them back at the same number that came up on my caller ID. It turns out that, yes, they are Fed Loan Servicing, and yes, I do owe them money because my wife forgot to send them a payment. :-)  As a general rule, any time someone calls you and asks you for your SSN, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM because you have no way really to verify if they are legit or not and chances are they are criminals; you can always call back at a number you have on one of your statements and take care of business without risking compromising your personal info, or worse. But, also as a general rule, it's a pretty good idea to repay your loans, especially the ones you owe to the fed, and not calling them back could result in a "ding" on your credit. And don't count on ANY federal agency just going away. Take care of it! Peace out.
