The call IS from a FedLoan service. I just got a call from them as well. But,...... my daughter was going to school and took out some loans and USED my number. So, if you are getting a call and NEVER went to college and took out a loan, there is one of 2 things going on. 1) someone gave your number or 2) you have a number that was used before YOU received the number....
OH and by the way? I don't think the dude was rude..... He was just informing you, that if you don't answer mail or acknowledge, the next step is to call. You make the debt, you take care of it. Now if you are receiving the call and never made the debt, instead getting your butt up on your shoulder, find out who they are wanting. I told them the truth, my daughter is in jail, and if they needed to contact her, that 's where they need to get her. They said they would take my number off of list too.

I've been getting calls from these people, and a bunch of automated calls from "other companies" with different phone numbers. One claims to be fedloan services (this number) and then there are daily calls from skeezy telemarketer recordings that want me to buy something or to give away personal information to get loans from companies I've never heard of before. I think this is a con, and I think someone gave out my number even though I am on the no-call list and every Tom Dick and Harry looking to make a buck off of anybody with a Verizon number. Lucky for me, I have the option of blocking numbers on my phone through my phone company, so I've been nixing them out one by one. Nice try people, but I've been keeping up with my payments and am in regular contact with my school. I suppose my only question is, why have these people not been turned in yet if they're attacking this many people on a regular basis?

The number is for FedLoan Servicing and it is legit.  They will ask for your social and it is not a scam.  However, you do not have to provide the social upfront and can verify other information with them first.  If you have no student loans and do not know why they are calling you, it is possible that they have an incorrect phone number but if you continue to not answer and let them know, they will continue to call as they are not psychic.  If your loans are current and they are calling, you should speak with them as something in the loan system as caused them to call.  Maybe you were behind previously and are not now, it takes awhile to get it out of their system.  If you are behind, stop avoiding the calls or complaining that they are trying to collect a debt that you owe.  Remember, they didn't make you take a loan for school, that was your choice.  Now you are obligated to pay it back and if you choose to ignore their calls and letters, they can and will garnish your tax refund, your wages, and put a lean on your bank account.

I have been receiving this phone number few times but I didn't answer. And I checked this number...I found it this site. I read people to complaint in here. My additional information, I got a internet fraud  and scam for last year. Since then I'm getting no answer phone numbers. All these numbers were complaint from others. Just ignore and don't answer.

Received call - did not answer - we are on the Do Not Call Registry.  IF this is in regards to student loans, we are a retired couple and have NO student loans.
