This was a clearinghouse sales aggregator for mostly-online "schools", calling in violation of the National Do-Not-Call Registry. I gave bogus email address, age, year of HS graduation, areas of interest for schooling, etc... I gave a hearty "YES" when asked whether the schools could contact me (the caller wouldn't go on unless I did...!). Now, when the schools call, I'll punk them along for as long as they let me, getting info about their "school", and ultimately will mention this call and the NDNCR violation. I'll post the school name(s) here as they come in, so everyone can avoid them - after all, if they have to use really shaky sales tactics to get students, what does that say about the overall integrity of their, uh, "school"... Yep, it takes a little work, but do you REALLY want the crap to stop...?
