My parents received a call saying that they were my son and that he was in a bad accident in Indiana.  That he was broadsided and had a broken nose and split lip and that the police gave him a breathalizer Test for some reason and that he had failed it and was in jail in Indiana.  That he was on his way to a friends funeral when this supposedly happened.  But this said friend actually died a year ago and was in Illinois.  The details that they had are creepy and how they knew to associate my parents under my maiden name is very odd.  Luckily when my father went to wire the money the Walmart associate knew it was a scam and stopped him from doing this.

Caller pretended to be bails bondsmen.
Caller from 247 area code pretended to be my nephew.   Called to say he was in accident needed money for bail.   Next caller would be bails Bond man.    Beware.   Ask lots if questions.

Caller pretended to be a legal aide. Our grandson was in an accident in Arizona and needed money for bail. Phone number used by caller: 405 308 43 55 caller used the name "Henri Gates". Then provided following information to send money gram: To a "Christian A. Abreu" and to a "Nelson Morillo" in Boston MA.  BEWARE CHECK FIRST WHERE YOUR LOVED ONES ARE AND WAIT TO HEAR FROM THEM.

This one gave me a start...my father called me to tell me that my nephew (his grandson) was in jail in New York for a DUI.  His nose was broken and that a defense attorney was going to call my father back.  My "nephew" asked my father how his wife was doing.  (Not too well, since she died to years ago.)  When my father reminded him that she was dead, he said he forgot because he was on drugs.  My father called me with the news.  I was in shock.  I plugged this caller number into a web search and saw this site.  Thank God!
