A woman named "Grace Rubenstein" called me stating I was listed as a co-applicant on a Quick Cash loan from another state that was not repaid. She was reportedly from Niagara Restitution Services calling on behalf of the state. She stated her company "owned the debt" and that it could be settled by repaying half the debt. She then asked for credit card information stating I would receive an email saying I had "paid in full." She threatened to revoke my drivers license and additional legal action should I not pay, and informed me I had 3 days to pay this debt that likely does not exist.
I told "Grace" I needed to discuss this and later called her back. A different "Grace" answered the phone and connected me to her supervisor "Jordan Valentino." They gave me the name of a bank, the Quick Cash lender, and the date of the incident. While this seemed almost legitimate, I then I asked for the physical address of the company. They hung up on me.
In short, this is not a real company. It is a scam. Please listen to the website below. Real debt collection agencies must provide you with their name, phone, physical address, and a written validation notice. They do not ask for credit card information over the phone or threaten you legally.
