My daughter got an interesting call last night at her place of employment, it went something like this:
Received a call from the above number (she works in a restaurant). She answers the phone and the guy ask her name . he said good you are the one who I need to talk to. He goes thru his talking points of their is a warrant for her arrest for a debt and that the police are waiting outside. My daughter came back (she is in college and has taken business law and criminal justice classes) and said" you can not have a warrant for a debt. They guy stuttered and said again the police are outside and she can pay 200 and change to clear this up with a debit card or cc. She then asked her superviser if any police are outside. She said no. and my daughter hung up. Her boss called back and after numerous ring the guy answers and refuses to ID and only said she 9my daughter) knows what she did and she can clear it up.
I told her she did a great job cutting the guy off and not believing a word. I told her that it is a scam. She figured that out already.
