Arrived home after a 4 day trip to find two voice mail messages from a Steve Martin.  His first message was something on the order of us helping him to help us.  The second call was more threatening. It was so obviously a scam, we didn't pay much attention to the wording of the calls.

A recorded message on my landline phone.  He said his name is Steve Martin and he called to inform me that there was an enforcement action against me executed by the US Treasury for a Federal criminal offense.  I was to be brought before a grand jury.  He said his call would be the second notice and he would like me to cooperate with "us" so he can help me help them.  He repeated his name and telephone number:716-543-7015.  He never identified who he was representing.  He had a British accent.  It's obviously a scam and because I have a recorded message I will ask our Sheriff's Dept if they would like to listen to it.

Just got this call and it sounded fishy.  Glad I looked it up and found all these other posts that said the same thing.

the message was the same as everybody else from this number.  I just wanted to add one thing, my friend who is really good in recognizing accents said, "Steve Martin" has Irish or English accent.

Not much the police can do.  These people are hard core Indian scammer/extortionists located in India and Pakistan.
