Yeah---that's a big help.......

This number calls our home several times a week and never leaves a message.  We have no idea who it is.  It just says "North Tonawa, NY" on our caller ID.  Very annoying.

If you get calls from a number, it could be a company spoofing the number and not really be the company that is calling. This is happening a lot in the industry with increased competition and the way the industry operates.  Don't assume these calls are from the agency who owns the number. Call the carrier of your phone, and ask them to trace the call to find who's really calling.  Spoofing is considered fraud, and you should be able to press charges. I don't know if there is a financial reward for catching them...but could be.

This number is from a company called American Coradius, a debt collection company.  Called with robocall to call them back.  Since I have no current debt, called them back.  They want to collect on a disputed cellular company bill (company out of business over 15 years ago), from 1993.  Company wants proof that I paid from 20 years ago, or they will keep calling.  Told them that it is *way* past any statute of limitations for any state within the US, and I will not pay.  Asked for proof/validation of debt, and the bozo on the phone said they did not have to provide it, but I have to provide proof that I paid.  Told the bozo to stuff his alleged debt where the sun doesn't shine, and told him not to call again.  Sent cease and desist next day, by registered and regular mail.

Since then, the company has called 2-3 times a day on robocall.  Just received back the registration card, and will be turning it over to my lawyer.  They ought to be aware, they are from my state, so it will be easy to collect on judgment.  Put my phone on silent ring for their calls, so it won't bother me.  I actually hope that they keep calling, so I can make some real money off of them for breaking the law.

By the way, on Caller ID they show up as "MOBILE", another violation.

If you have an iPhone or any smart phone just block the number. Easy. It's a debt collector. Just ignore them. If you have real debt YOUR bank will call.
