Debt collector from New York threatening to sue me in my county.

i have gotten the same thing. i've made one payment and haven't gotten a confirmation number, receipt or anything. was told not to pay anything else.

I got a call from them stating they are from Emily Holding law firm. about pay day loan. and wantedthe money today.

Left message on answering machine that he was an investigator trying to mediate a fraudulent check in Harrris Co. (not around here,, can tell you that much) and we should contact him before a civil summons or criminal procedings were started. Sounded like a pompus wanna be trying to be tough. We don't owe anyone anything, have no checks missing or account tampered with. Hate these calls!
