Caller ID displayed as UNAVAILABLE with an unrecognized number. I let it go to my answering machine. A man left a message stating that a pending civil complaint is being filed against us. He mentioned a property address and an employer that we do not recognize. The man did not disclose his name nor the name of his company/firm. He left an alternate number as 888-726-8201. He said that if the matter was not addressed, that documents will be sent to the property address and employer, which once again, we do not recognize. I googled the number that appeared on my caller ID plus the alternate number and both numbers do not have a company or a firm associated with. Very suspicious.....

One more thing....I dialed back both numbers and encountered a message saying that the "party you're trying to reach is not available to take your call" and "leave a message after the tone." I didn't leave one and hung up.

The Caller ID displayed as UNAVAILABLE with no phone number.  The call came to the main office phone of my employer, and the person asked to speak to "MY" supervisor.  The receptionist asked what the call was regarding, and the caller replied "legal documents regarding a personal matter."  Unbeknownst to the caller, the call was transferred to me instead of my boss.  A man (calling himself Jason) stated that a personal civil complaint had been filed against me for an unpaid debt, and officers would be out to serve papers at my place of employment within 2 hours.  He claimed the only way to prevent the officers from showing up and "embarrassing" me at work, would be for me to call 888-726-8201 with a "case number" he provided and for me to settle the matter immediately.  Obviously, this is a scam!!!!  My credit score is over 770, and I have absolutely NO unpaid or past due debt of any kind.

However, just to have a little fun of my own....  I blocked my phone number and called the 888 number "Jason" had provided.  The first time (first of many, ha-ha scumbag), someone answered saying "corporate office, how may I direct your call?"  I asked to speak with Mr. Smith (obviously, a made up name).  The person who answered replied, "just a moment, I'll transfer your call."  I was placed on "HOLD" (nothing but dead silence.... the call was never transferred to anyone), then after about 30-45 seconds the "same" person came back on the line.  He stated his name was Mr. Smith and asked, "do you have a case number?"  I calmly replied, "yes, it's... YOU ARE SCREWED."  At that point, I hung up the phone and proceeded to unleash a "shitstorm" of phone calls on him for about 2 hours.... hang-up calls, nothing-but-silence calls, you've-been-reported calls, heavy-breathing calls, and every other prank call you can imagine.  DANG, that felt good!!!!

So, turn the tables on these low-life scumbags and have a little fun….  Don't ever let anyone bully you or try to extort your hard-earned money!!!!
