Just got a call from this #; said he was from Microsoft Windows and there is an issue on the server; he actually gave me my windows ID code which is pretty scary; I knew it was some kind of a scam of someone trying to get in to my computer, but I started tape recording it to see what he was going to say. He told me that as a courtesy, he was going to help me get the malware off of my computer; told him to give me the name of the malware and I would have my IT person do it (I don't have an IT person); he said, "no, they don't know how"...(it kept getting better); anyway, I decided to see what he was going to try & do; he said hit 'the windows key and the R simultaneously; this brought up the dos box; he then told me to type "eventvwr" and hit enter; I did not do this, but I was on google typing it to see what came up.
