I have a small bakery. Today, I received a text from 713-352-6336 saying that somebody recommended him my place. He said that he was planning a party for his wife and that he needed a cake. He asked me if he could call me and I said, yes. Then, 5 minutes later he said that his nurse did not allow him to call because he had a surgery the day before. But, he would text. He said, "I hope you accept checks. I want a very big cake saying congratulations for my wife. ...(and then, he described the cake)". To whomever receives a text like this one; first, consider that that excuse about not been able to talk over the phone is a big red flag, second, spelling errors or lack of punctuation, are also another red flag. I cursed the guy, and he never answered back. These type of calls are from scammers. They request food, then, they give you a stolen credit card or check; but also, they ask you to give the person, who comes to pick the food up, money to pay for the delivery and to add that expense to the stolen card or check. Beware!
