Pre-recorded message stated that it was my credit card company and that they had been trying to reach me, press 1 to be connected. After pressing 1, I was connected with a man that identified himself as being with "Card Member Services" working for Visa & MasterCard, and Experian. He told me that my Experian credit report had flagged me as being qualified for lower APR on my credit cards. He asked me which of the cards I had the highest balance on: visa or mastercard ? I replied mastercard and he asked for the expiration date. I told him I was quiet certain that it was a few years off but didn't know exactly when. I told him that I wasn't sharing any information with him. He told me to get the card out because he was going to prove to me that he was working with Experian by giving me the balance, last payment, and next payment as well as the current APR on that particular card. I said great and waited. After a few moments of silence he said "did you get the card out" and I replied that I did. He said "go ahead and confirm that number, beginning with 5".
Needless to say, I didn't give him the number. I asked him for a phone number where I could call him back later today after I had time to research & he said that his name was Lincoln Navarro and that "is not how it works". I asked then, if it "was a now or never offer" and he said he "wasn't dying to give me a lower interest rate" and to "have a blessed day' and hung up on me. That is the basics of what was said...he was very pushy and pretty convincing....would hate to see my bill after they got the number & expiration date :(
