get these calls about once a week to our land line. I have never pressed 1 as I'm in fear that doing so will result in my acceptance of something that I really don't need or want.

Same as the others. My phone 'announces' who is calling--this one 709 192 5782- from Newfoundland--I am in BC and don't know anyone in Nfld! 4 rings so didn't go to voicemail. I NEVER answer if I don't know who it is and if they want me, they'll leave a message and then I can decide if I want to return the call!

I did. We live just outside of Halifax. Time to get on the Do Not Call registry.

I've been on the Do Not Call registry since its inception... but like you, I'm also here checking the exact same unanswered number(s) from my caller ID.  They've called four times in as many days.

I answered a few minutes ago - pressed 1...a very friendly East Indian gentleman informed me he was calling from 'my' credit card customer service. This was the final day I could lower my interest rate. I asked which bank he represented - he responded that he represented all major banks - TD, RBC, CIBC and Scotiabank. I asked where he was calling from - London, ON he said. It reeks of fraud. I hung up.
