I got a swedish reply to a car ad at swedish site Blocket.se where i try to sell my old SAAB... asking me to reply to ingrid.lindstrom01@hotmail.com, i did (facepalm)

i got the reply "Sorry i would like us to write in English...I am really interested in the immediate purchase of your merchandise and i will like to know how long you have owned it?? what´s your best price for it and when last was it serviced?

Best regards.."

i guess this is either some net scam where a mailacount is hijacked and someone living in Atlanta region, Rome, GA (close to Atlanta) or someone using a online SMS-service from where ever, tries to get banking dates to later help them scam/ netphish for money?? My guess is that this _Ingrid_ has NOTHING to do with number nor the sent mails/ sms... (even more intrested in why soimeone residing in the US would look for 1990-s SAAB in Swedish rural areas of Dalsland.)

I'd say you're being set up for either a 'Paypal scam', or the 'Fake check/money order scam'. First, they try and get your Paypal address & then send you a fake receipt. Second, you get an over payment check & are asked to use a cash wire service to send money to their 'mover'. Guess what about the check? If this were a classic, rare car, sure. But a 1990's era SAAB? Either way - Scam.

I got the same scenario, and did the same supid thing as ou did, that is answering the person in question. Italso nearly got further, as my experince in selling cars is zip and zero and nothing at all. My reaction came at the complete lack of answers to basic questions. Thanks to this thread my suspicions were confirmed. Nicely played :)

Love the fact that they don't change the address or text when they contacted me its the exakt same as above, all i had to do was to Google the address and found the answer to what i suspected to be a scam here
