The real "Troopers Association" is located in Raleigh, NC and this is a 'sound-alike' charity that is from outside the state of NC.

Not registered with the NC SOS to solicit according to their website.   This is a professional fundraiser, so very little actually goes to the named charity.   The majority goes to the telemarketer.

Callback is live person, but the number is a VoIP internet phone that could be located anywhere in the USA or world for that matter.
If you want to donate - please look up the actual charity located in Raleigh, NC and give there.  100% of all funds donated are used for their intended purpose.   No telemarketers involved.

This charity keeps on changing their numbers so that when you look them up, all of the bad baggage is not listed.

Caller claimed they were with the North Carolina Troopers association, the caller sounded like it was automated response. Trying to get me to agree to a donation, then tells me without me asking that a kit would be mailed to me, and then the "Voice" asks me if I would agree to a simple donation of $15.00. I asked how they expected me to pay for this. Again I was told they would send a "Kit" in the mail. I agreed to this. If they were a Real organization they would send the info in the mail as requested to allow a person to look it over. Then I was switched to the "Operator" and she asks me how much I agreed to donate I said 15.00 she say's Great! we accept Visa,Mastercard, American Express, etc and asked which card I'd be using. I laughed and said No I don't think so, and told them not to call my number again. Which IS on the do not call list.
If this is truly an organization that collects donations for the purpose stated and do it by making cold calls, as a professional Law Protecting organization should know Not to request people without proper information and Identification to give their credit card numbers over the phone. I knew it was a scam..

Just received a call. Since I don't answer calls that are unidentified on caller ID, call went to answering machine.  They didn't leave a message.  This is a business office. And they phoned at almost 9pm.
