Someone left message stating they were "investigator" Barrett. He stated that he needed a call back or he would have to move forward with warrants, & file paperwork with the DA. When I returned the call, he was stating some things in a rambling fashion (clear voice-no accent)-he had been calling for my spouse. He clearly is not privy to how "warrants" , or anything else for that matter, works. Appears this is another scam of some sort-possibly a collector-but not sure-as he refused to state what office he was with.

Jim Barrett left message stated he was Investigate Jim Barrett not Investigator Jim Barrett when I called back he immediately talked about warrants but when I asked questions he could not give me precise answers just kept saying that I would be arrested for fraud and was very rude said he was with company called Greenfield Consultants

I received a call from an investigator jim (james) barrett, at first  figured like most people oh this may be a scam but i had to be honest with myself and take accountability for my own actions, which something that a lot of us do not do, i guess that why i decided to comment here and with the bbb, because i did take out the payday loan online, and the check did not clear my account.... I looked up the bad checks laws in my state and to my suprised he was completely right... I know like most of you i was extremely embarrassed and ran with the first thought that came to my mind just to evade the situation all together but mr.Barrett was very patient with me and honestly help me settle out of court by reducing the  balance i owed   granted it was mostly interest but it was paid and i have the documentation to prove it so people let be truly honest with ourselves because just i  knew, you know that you borrowed the money that didn't pay back and the bad part you used a check to secure the loan... No judgment i'm just saying

P.S. Oh, by the way. Your calls appear to be coming from NC. The type of loan you're referring to hasn't been legal in NC for many years. Nor is the practice of collecting them.
