It's been 4 hours ... we called him back trying to get verifiable information before sending any money.  He gave us a run-around and a website that didn't give any information about the "company" just a phone number which my son called and the guy just answered "hello?"  Really!  WHAT law firm answers their phones like that??  Not to mention it is after 6PM on the West Coast and this guy is in North Carolina!  The place would be CLOSED!!!  Yet,  watch out for Detective Richard Smith with Check Investigative Services at this number!  If I am wrong, I will happily make another post ....but YOU know what I think!  So Grace, watch yourself!

Receive a call today from same Detective Richard Smith asking for someone I do not know.  Called back to leave a message stating this and to request that he does NOT call my number again. If he does call back (stupid mistake!) I will investigate further and post my findings.

I also received a call from a woman saying she was investigator Jones calling about a court hearing formsomeone I don't know.  When I called to say they got the wrong number I received a message for Richard Smith as well.  Could this be a scam to get valid phone numbers?

I also left a message saying that they had the wrong number and to call me if they had questions.  I am reporting this to the FTC as it sounds like a scam to me.

My girlfriend got a call from this number a few weeks ago asking for about $2000 and said if not paid within 24 hrs she was going to jail. I did some research on this number, I call the police department on the on the county for area code 704 and asked if there was any Detective Richard Smith in this county, the answer, NO, I was also inform that this kind of matter are civil issues and the police has nothing to do with it. I call Richard Smith back, trying to find out more, I asked how to pay and he gave me a round around. Later I called again and pretended to be someone else, I asked a few questions and the answers did not convince me. I paid him nothing and concluded it was all a scam. its been three weeks and i have not heard from him again nor have to local police department come to my house to arrest my girlfriend as he assure me nor has the court contacted me on this matter. It is all a scam, If you get a call from this A# 7044697086 report it to you local authorities. Dont give him any money.
