Received a call from this number this morning.  I don't usually answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.  But being from a local area code, I thought it might be someone I knew. No one there, just "fax" noises.   Out of curiosity, I called back, and a heavy voiced female answered "promotion department." I asked for clarification and all she said was it was the promotion department from a local newspaper. She did not identify the paper, so who knows what the call is about. Think I'll block this number too.

It turns out it was the Charlotte Observer trying to sell newspaper subscriptions. They called me about 3 times on different days and when I finally answered they immediately tried selling to me.

They have been calling minimally 3x a week for the last two weeks at strange times. Have never answered, and they never leave a message. I haven't subscribed to the Charlotte Observer in years so a sales call seems likely.

Have received many, many calls from this number -- Cherryville, NC.  If it is indeed the Charlotte Observer, they will never quit calling!!  They never leave a message, just hang up after 2 - 1/2 rings.

They call and hang up without leaving a message.
