the same man with a thick accent keeps calling my work. when i explained i was at work and couldnt get calls he kept asking me to verify my social security # which i would not do. he hung up on me twice. then called back again and left the number for me to call back. when i called back a man picked up the phone and just said "hello?". i asked what kind of business answers the telephone with hello? i dont know what this is but they keep calling the toll free number of my work and asking for me, and the operators at my work are getting sick of it and there is nothing i can do.

Sure there is.  Be proactive;  do a brief memo to anyone who would be affected, and include your supervisor, that you are the victim of an attempted extortion.  Direct them to this website, and the links down the right side, which will direct them to information about it.  Ask (if you can) that no messages be taken for you, as these scammers  appear to be calling from outside the country.  You can also report them to your state Attorney General's office.

Yes,today,I receiving a same call from same man,he need to get arest,for what he try to do..Please dont try to call him back,I went to the police and talk to them about him,he got my last four of ss#,my address,but he is wrong about where i live..Hope he will get-cut..He needs to go to jail...I knew he was not a American,because he can't spoke english....

I have been receiving calls from these people during the day at work. Very rude and nasty, yelling in the phone, calling every 2 seconds it seems. Asking for my for personal information. When I asked that they not call me at work. I was told they would call all day. The man had a very deep accent. He put his supervisor on the phone. Who stated his name was Adrian Walker. I asked for a call back number which he gave me 704-247-5052 and I was instructed to ask for him. He also made it seem as though he was calling from some agency within the US and that is was urgent I call him back and how long would it take. Again I told him I was at work. I decided to search the number and this is where it lead me. I feel as though they are calling outside of the country because there was a local number  that showed and when I called back the message stated it was an internet based call. Go figure! Something really needs to be done about this.

I am receiving calls today from this number.  They are threatening legal action if I do not call them so they can help me avoid it.  The one time I did answer I was asked to pay them a specific amount and they would clear everything up.  It's always a thich accent that calls with more common names.  Today the caller ID is NC, I have had them from locations all over the country and am so tired of it.  It will stop for a few weeks and then starts up from somewhere else a different company and legal office but always the same message..  Very frustrating!!
