I've had the same problem with this number as the other postings here, and wanted to share that if you have Verizon, they will block up to 5 numbers for you at no charge.  The block lasts for 90 days, so you have to call & re-set but that's better than getting these calls all day & night.

This type of threatening and harassing behavior is illegal, especially since they are a not the original debtor but rather a 3rd party debt collector.  Record the call if possible and tell her you are doing so then tell her that if you hear anything else from her or her group you will be talking to an attorney of your own.  Be prepared to follow through if the threatening calls continue.  In order to handle some in-house corporate collections I had to take a course on what is ok and what isn't on the part of the collector.

called me today, and the typical pause, then a woman says "hello?"

Who calls someone else and then says "hello?"  Only an idiot would do this.  You are supposed to say "may I speak with..."  but to say "hello???"

That's what people say when they ANSWER the phone!

I got a call today, but i wasn't by my phone when they called.
I'm pretty sure I know what to expect if I answer now, thanks to all your comments.
Maybe i'll mess with them and if they ask if i'm so and so, i'll pretend that I am and see how far I can get. haha
