It may also show up or ask you to call 626-380-0480. the person has a bad accent, probably Mexican or Guatemalan, sounds like a teenager or young adult... the person says a local sheriff is on his way to arrest you per a warrant issued in Los Angeles County Superior Court and that he is an LA chief investigator (whatever that is) and you need to call the above number to verify you are not that person (ss#, dl and birthdate). DO NOT FALL FOR THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Local police cannot do anything to stop it, military police have no jurisdiction and the RLSO will not act unless you have actually been defrauded. This person is targeting military families due to most military personnels' travel habits. My saving grace was I've never flown into Los Angeles, never resided in Los Angeles County, and my San Diego billet was years ago. You may want to try to get your local phone company to block the number, but it might get expensive depending on your service. The only thing you can do is curse the person out when he calls and remind him you can't understand him, that he is constantly rude, and keep him on the line for how ever long possible until he says "you're wasting my time" and hangs up, considering you can't call him back. The spoof numbers actually go to a locksmith company in the El Monte/South El Monte, CA area and when i actually got the number of the locksmith company, they do not want to be bothered... Keep the person on the phone, curse the person out, and if you have tracing software, use it to trace the location... but be apprised it's a scam... The person uses names of actors and famous people and the extension 7105, but if you call 626-380-0480, the extension is either not in service or goes to an non-established voice mailbox. Do, however, threaten the person if he calls... harassment is not illegal if the call is incoming... The Caller ID is L OCKSMITH A 24.
