The DNC list is like the lock on your front door - it only protects you from honest people. So don't get mad - get even. Report them - harass them back if that is your style. Or just ignore them.
Political, charity, surveys, and bill collectors are exempt from DNC lists. I like that FBI line - I just tried this...
"Your call has been automatically forwarded to the local police department, please hold while I get my supervisor...and put them on hold and see how long they stay. But most often I just don't answer. If you don't have caller ID get it. And get an answering machine (not an in phone service) where you can hear when a message is being left so you can pick it up if it really is someone important." My rule: No message, It's not important.
If you know who calls, if you want to bother, you can also e-mail them (I use a nom-de-plume account) and write them and tell/ warn them that they have been officially informed not to call, gift, give or sell my number or I will take legal action for harassment. Though I suppose if they have your number they can find out who you are if you are listed. If it wasn't necessary I would have an unlisted number.
Thanks for the folks who were able to find out who these twits are. I'll keep my 10 foot pole handy.
