called back to number, they wouldn't say what the call pertained to...asked the guy if he was soliciting something and he said no...

It is a collection agency.  Politely. Threatening to file a 1099 on my 10yr old credit card debt.
I don't think it matters if I ever pay it off. They said that they would remove it from my credit rating reports, but after ten years I think they have to do it anyways.

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".
