Yep.  Happened to my dad as well.  We found his ad on Craigslist and checked into it to see if it was legit even though we were pretty positive it was a scam. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

yep they tried to get me. Said they were in Texas and when I said, "Great, I will be in Texas next week, what is your address?"  No reply....lol  Same scam with the trike, dead son, moving to Alaska... even sent me a copy of the title and VIN numbers on the bike.  Crazy!

I checked into this over this weekend too. Same price of $415.26 to take the bike from Texas to NJ and he refused to answer questions. Just kept telling me to give my info and a deposit so he can invoice me. I went as far as calling him. Did speak to them and when I got the same [***] on the phone, I told him, "Yeah sure! I'm not in town right now but I will be tomorrow. Let me get home and I'll contact you again with all the info required and a deposit."

Got home and did my research and this page was one of them and the ad was gone. Craigslist / Jersey Shore.

I found it a bit suspicious that a bike in Texas was listed in NJ and when asked 3 times why and got no answer, thats when I felt i needed to look deeper into this. The Google phone thing was also another red flag.

Anyone with this guy should report the incident to www.ic3.gov - these kinds of scams I'm pretty sure are a federal crime.
