My sister and I actually do own a home bakery business, so when I received this text about cupcakes, I thought it might be a friend of a friend who saw my page, or perhaps got my number from a friend. He was very insistent on my giving him the total he owes. I told him I do not accept credit cards (which we don't), and that if he did want to buy cupcakes, he would have to pay cash, as we don't accept personal checks from people we don't know or know of... Then he kept insisting that I need to get to work and give him the amount for the cupcakes. So I googled his number and it brought me to this page and I realized it wasn't anyone who knew us... So if anyone is reading this and happens to actually BE in the baking business--it's a scam! He wouldn't even give me an email address. Ugh. Waste of time [***].

He text me to order cupcakes and same fake story he gave me!

same message - instantly knew it was a scam due to the number - they requested 250 cupcakes for a family reunion Sept 2017 and asked if i accept credit cards.  I replied yes i do cupcakes - no i do not accept credit cards - they responded back with great they want 250 being chocolate and vanilla with sprinkles and icing (ummm dahhh on the icing) - then gave the date of 23rd of Sept (another give away it is a scam) saying they will be picked up by 4pm - wanted a full estimate so could make full payment with credit card up front - umm did i not say i DO NOT ACCEPT - then they listed what they needed FULL NAME, TYPE OF CC ACCEPTED & SHOP ADDRESS - when i asked where the reunion would be held the reply was within the state ... yea right - OK has a lot of territory - so NOPE no not doing it.. when i stated again i only accept cash and i required a physical address of the event... they stopped replying....
