They left a message stating that it was the Internal Revenue Service and that I needed to call back immediately or there would be financial consequences. I called back to ask for follow up information so that I could report them and they hung up. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM BACK PEOPLE, IT'S A SCAM AND THEY ARE SCAREMONGERING YOU INTO GIVEING THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFO. I have gone through an official IRS audit (in 2013, so recently) and they DO NOT contact you via phone. They send you large packets in the mail and assign you a local IRS agent to work with directly.
