Automated caller that checks to see if you pick up your phone.  Once you answer, the call just hangs up.  Soon after, you will receive telemarketing calls.  If you're getting calls on your land line, get a phone that has a "call blocking" feature.  Mine has a limit of 250 numbers stored, but it has been working great so far.  So many calls blocked.
