I believe this is a phishing/fraud attempt.  I received a text tonight from 650-918-2809, the text supposedly was from Wells Fargo bank telling me that my card beginning with 4259 has been deactivated and instructing me to call 650-528-2494.  The reasons I believe this is fraud are
1) I do not have a Wells Fargo card beginning with 4259
2) I found a complaint from someone else on Mrnumber website saying they had received the exact same text with the same card number beginning with 4259.


Be very careful, this may be a fraud attempt.

I also got the same message, but I don't have any Wells Fargo accounts.  The message said my card had been deactivated to call 650-528-2494. It came from 650-276-9040.

same exact thing just happened to me. Text message from 650-276-9040 saying:WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your DEBIT/CARD starting with 4259 has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 650-528-2494. Beware!

I got the same same.  What information you think can be stolen from such a text message?

Just received exact same message and I do not have any accounts w Wells Fargo.
