Phony job scam.

THIS IS A SCAM... This is all due to a phony craigslist job ad that I responded to. Sorry if they got you, too.

Sends you an email stating you are being considered for the job but then asks you to complete an online IQ quiz which when completed asks for your cell phone # which will sign you up for a subsribption service that will be billed to your cell @ $9.99 a month

thanks SO much for this info! i rec'd the email from them (name they used was 'porton llc') & was considering replying, but decided to check 'em out w/google first. i was told to click on the link for an IQ test, & that automatically sounded VERY fishy! i mean, WHY would i need to submit an IQ TEST for a clerical job??!!  GLAD i found this post! thanx, again!!!

I received the following E-mail, and it just did not sound right.  I did open the IQ link and knew it was BULL.

Looks like they are using a different version of their company name, and they do have a very professional web site under that name, but no contact telephone numbers listed on the web site.

Job requires: Excellent written/oral communication skills to perform administrative tasks such as answering phones and taking messages, preparing mailings, the order and maintenance of supply quantities, copy work, general filing and e-mailing, and typing. We will give more specific details at our interview.
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Can be flexible if required)
Pay for this Position: 13 - 15 an hour (we will decide final salary after interview based from experience)
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, tuition reimbursement after 12 months, sick and vacation time and 401k.

The selection process is almost done. Porden only asks for you to complete a simple IQ(Intelligence Quotient) quiz to give the HR Manager.
