The same happened here, they called, wife answered, and they said they needed to confirm her social security number.  Seems like criminal behavior if you ask me.

I get about 2 calls per day from them as well. Shows Private name and then the number. I get Mountain View Calif when I look it up. No one ever leaves a message and now that I know they want personal info - I will turn it over to the police.

are both double debt collectors who have scammed up information from accounts either closed by payment or filed against IRS as a write off of sorts.  I have suddenly been contacted by these two numbers, at least 4 times a day...various times.  I will not confirm with any machined voice my name and will wait a minimum for a live voice willing to answer questions without using a question.
It is scary to think how much of this goes on throughout the world.  There are several groups online 24/7 collecting information, sending it to a data base solicitor outside the US, using  a PO Box for payments, or accepting CC over the phone....all in all.....releasing all your vital private information, with out being able to trace who actually is receiving it.  BLOCK THESE CALLS FROM YOUR CELL PHONE ......EVEN IF YOU HAVE DEBTS......CALL THE CREDITOR DIRECTLY ONLY.

Just got a call from this heavy indian accented guy... Told him to take me off his list do not call the house anymore or I will have him brought up on charges. He said OK OK and I hung up.... Dont play games with these idiots!!!
