I just got some messages from this number. At first, I thought it was a friend since the numbers are so similar and I haven't saved her new cell number yet. As well, randomly, my birthday just past and I've moved out of town, so I thought the "I got a gift for you" was legit.
This person actually kept it up and I started getting suspicious. Sure enough, the numbers didn't match and I stopped responding. They texted me again after a while, asking if I was angry, but I still haven't responded.
Lucky for me, I wasn't paying for every text because of my unlimited texting, but I would recommend ignoring this ridiculous person. Unfortunately you have to add another service on your phone with Rogers in order to get numbers blocked, but if they keep it up (which they seem to be, my phone is still vibrating), I'll just warn them that I will report their harassing messages to the police.
