Called number back.  Unsolicited call from a financial guy. Been getting allot of these types of calls lately

Told me I qualified for a mortgage at an interest rate of 2.5% which the woman asked to confirm was lower than my current one.  Happily I said no.  Then she had the balls to ask me to explain how that's possible like it's any of her business.  Told her I wasn't interested and hung up on her.  Not sure if call was a legitimate business but I suspect not as I am on the DNCL.  Do NOT give them personal financial info if they call

They called again 20 minutes after I said I wasn't interested and hung up.  Not too bright and strongly suggestive of a scam...BEWARE

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse.

Caller intoduced himself as John, and asked if I had a mortgage. told John, whom had a hard to understand East Indian accent, I'm not interested as I hung up.
